NEW NEWS NEWSER...
Hey dooooooods;Today i was listening to Howard Stern interview Rodney King about Rod's upcoming boxing match against some ex-cop. Anyway, i was shocked to learn that when Rodney was awarded his "payout" from the LAPD whoopin him silly, he sunk it all into a record label!
To make matters worse, he and Stern went on about how there is no worse investment on the planet than a record label. They laughed. They agreed... Then they talked about this f'n boxing match for $.
Now obviously we didnt start B+G to just make money... We certainly didnt do it to see a "return on investment". Regardless, this conversation really made me feel like an asshole. I dont want to end up fighting ex-cops for money!
Maybe I'm as dumb as Rodney King. Maybe Rodney King is a lot more noble than i once presumed... Either way, suckers and romantics seem to be the one's who dont know that music is dying.
Maybe, i need to listen to less Stern.
Doubt it.
Anyway, Drug Rug starts their tour this weekend, and Bryan Scary (even though its with another label) has an EP coming out next month. Check em out.

Today i was watching my son Lennon learn to lift his head.
He was laying head down on his blanket squirming and grunting trying to see the world around him. So I put on the ipod we have in his room.
My wife and I play him classical music. It's supposed to be good for babies. Encourage brain development. However; when I play the ipod, i put on the shuffle and see what happens. I have about 9000 songs on mine. Everything from Bach to the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
Rarely, in a listening do I hear some stuff from the label.
So as baby Lennon pushed and grunted in frustration, Drug Rug's Tiny people started to play.
Not only is it one of my favorite songs ever, but i realized that the music we were putting out is already in my son's life.
And that this same song has been in many other people's life, in many different moments.
Music is a gift that we are so lucky to be a part of. We have decided here, at B+G to start giving our music away for donations, or free if you'd like. Starting next month, for a limited time our entire back cat. will be avail for download via this site. We hope you will make it a part of your life, and let us know how it is.
